Getting Started
How do I join ShelterIQ as a pro?
Visit shelteriq.app/pro-signup and fill out the application form. Include your business name, service type, license info, and insurance status. We review applications within 1-2 business days.
Does it cost anything to join?
No. Joining ShelterIQ is completely free. We only charge a small 5% service fee when you complete a job and get paid through the platform.
What types of services can I offer?
Anything home-related: HVAC, plumbing, electrical, roofing, landscaping, pest control, cleaning, handyman work, pool service, painting, flooring, and more.
Do I need a license to join?
License requirements depend on your trade and state. Having a license and insurance helps your application get approved faster and builds trust with homeowners.
How It Works
How do I get matched with homeowners?
When a homeowner in your area needs a service you offer, we send you an email with the job details. You submit a quote with your price and availability, and the homeowner can accept or decline.
How does the quoting process work?
When you receive a service request, click the link in the email to submit your quote. Enter your price, select your available dates, and add any notes. The homeowner reviews and either accepts or declines. No phone calls needed.
Can homeowners contact me directly?
All communication goes through the ShelterIQ platform to protect both parties. Homeowners cannot see your phone number or email until a job is confirmed, and even then, communication is managed through the platform.
What happens when a homeowner accepts my quote?
You receive a confirmation email with the full job details, address, and date. The email includes an "Add to Calendar" button for Google Calendar, Outlook, or Apple Calendar.
Payments & Earnings
How do I get paid?
Payments are processed securely through the platform. Once a homeowner confirms the job is complete, funds are released to your account within 2-3 business days.
What fees does ShelterIQ charge?
We charge a 5% service fee on completed jobs. There are no upfront costs, no monthly fees, and no listing fees. You only pay when you earn.
Can I set my own prices?
Yes. You set your own price for every job. Homeowners can review our public average price guides for ballpark context, but your quote is what they accept or decline.
Account & Support
How do I access my pro dashboard?
Log in at shelteriq.app/pro/login with the email and password you used during signup. Your dashboard shows new requests, active jobs, and past work.
What if a homeowner isn't satisfied?
We have a fair resolution process. Both parties can communicate through the platform, and our support team helps mediate any disputes to reach a fair outcome.
Can I update my business information?
Yes. You can update your service types, business name, and contact information from your pro dashboard.
How do I get more jobs?
Respond quickly to requests, maintain high ratings, and keep your profile complete. Pros with faster response times and better reviews get matched more often.
